Dr. Shruthi Reddy is a Consultant in HepatoBiliary - Pancreatic and Liver transplant surgery at Sakra World Hospital. She has a decade-long experience in complex gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary and liver transplant surgeries. After her medical schooling at Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute, she trained and worked in premier institutes like PGIMER, Chandigarh and AIIMS, New Delhi gaining her MS and MCh degrees. She performed many complex GI surgeries at these centres and was an integral part of the liver transplant team.
Experience of 14 years in the field of hepatobiliary pancreatic (HBP) and complex gastrointestinal cancer surgeries. Expert in liver transplantation (both adult and paediatric) and proficient in advanced laparoscopic and robotic gastrointestinal surgeries (especially surgeries of the liver and pancreas).
Following this, she went on to pursue a senior fellowship in Liver Transplantation at the world-famous King’s College Hospital, London where she was a lead retrieval and an independent transplant surgeon. She has a cumulative experience of over 700 liver transplants. Also, having trained in Robotic HBP surgeries from Royal Marsden Hospital, London, living donor liver transplantation from Dr Rela Institute and Medical Centre, Chennai and peritoneal cancer surgery from Basingstoke, UK, she can operate on the entire spectrum of abdominal surgeries.
She has wide experience in complex liver and pancreas surgeries for cancers, portal hypertension and benign conditions. She is an expert in transplantation liver, combined liver-kidney, paediatric liver and uncommon situations like machine perfusion, auxiliary transplantation, redo transplantation and DCD transplantation. Her special interest area is minimal access liver and pancreas surgery.
She has been instrumental in starting a liver transplant programme at the public sector hospital in Bangalore. She was previously also involved in other transplant programmes in Bangalore and a few other South Indian cities. She is one of the best Hepatobiliary-pancreatic and Liver transplant surgeons in Bangalore.
