His original work on Vitamin D and calcium deficiency in India, and corrective measures have been adopted in various national health programs, and, various food fortification measures have been adopted in most states of India. His research has provided new perspectives on correctly diagnosing and treating metabolic bone diseases.

He is the Director at the Institute of Endocrinology, Diabetes, Thyroid & Osteoporosis Disorders in Sakra World Hospital, Bangalore, Karnataka. Also, he is a Visiting Professor at the Department of Medicine & Endocrinology, Saveetha Medical College, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences University, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
