The Department of Respiratory Medicine at Sakra World Hospital makes sure that comprehensive care is provided for both inpatients and outpatients with any pulmonary problem.

We make it our responsibility to use and provide patients with the latest technological equipment for any pulmonary disease. We provide various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures with Fibre optic and rigid Bronchoscope.

The respiratory and sleep medicine department at Sakra has the following facilities:

1. Pulmonary care - Outpatient and Inpatient care of a spectrum of patients with Respiratory diseases including prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of -

• Airways Diseases e.g. Asthma, Chronic Bronchitis, COPD, Bronchiectasis etc.
• Interstitial Lung diseases

2. Pulmonary Function Lab

• Pulmonary Function test – Spirometry
• PFT with post Bronchodilator therapy
• Diffusion Study
• Lung Volumes
• Maximum Inspiratory and expiratory pressure for Neuromuscular disorders
• Six minute walk test
• Peak Expiratory Flow rate (PEFR)

3. Bronchoscopy Suite

• Various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are done with Fibre optic and rigid Bronchoscope
• Diagnostic video-Bronchoscopy with BAL
• Trans-bronchial Biopsy (TBB)
• Trans-bronchial Lung Biopsy (TBLB)
• Bronchoscopic foreign body removal
• Tracheal dilatation and or stenting
• Electro-cauterization of Growth
• Medical Thoracoscopy for evaluation and treatment of pleural diseases
• Endo bronchial ultrasound (EBUS) for diagnosis and staging of mediastinal adenopathy

4. Sleep Lab

• Multiple sleep Latency test (MSLT)

5. Interventional Pulmonology

Emerging field in pulmonary medicine which deals with use of advance diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to treat various benign, cancerous and pleural diseases.
